Storing your fursuit
The ideal place to store your costume is in a closet or other similar storage area. It should be dry, room temperature, and away from any light (which can discolor the fur over time). Make sure you brush your suit before storing it! Any mats or tangles in the fur will only get worse over time or even cause permanent wrinkles in the fur.
The head should be placed on top of the shelf, or if one is not available, on top of your storage bin. I recommend placing a dryer sheet in the head and body when they are dry, it will absorb odor and keep everything smelling fresh!
The bodysuit should be hung up with a sturdy hanger. If for some reason there is not space to hang it properly, loosely folding it or rolling it inside of the storage bin can also work, but hanging is much better for the costume. Do not crumple it or shove it into the bin.
The handpaws can be stored inside of the head or simply laid next to it, on top of the bin, or inside of the bin. Whatever works best for you! The tail can also be laid inside of or on top of the bin. Feetpaws can go in the very bottom of the bin, or the shelf, or the floor.

Traveling
The above image illustrates the best way to pack a fursuit within a large plastic bin. The suit should be packed in such a way that nothing is squished down or bent. This is especially important for the fursuit ears as you do not want them to become permanently bent out of shape.
The feet paw bottoms should always be facing outwards as you do not want dirty bottoms touching the rest of the suit. The bodysuit can also be gently folded and placed along the bottom of the bin if it fits better that way!
If you don't have a bin, using a big cardboard box can work! Also, if you are careful, you can travel with your suit in a large garbage bag or sports bag. Just be sure there is ample room and do not put anything on top of the bin, box, or bag.
If you are traveling by plane, the easiest option is to ship your fursuit to a friend or directly to the hotel. Otherwise, you will need an Action Packer or similar large, hard, durable case. Type up directions on how to fit the suit back into the case for when it's inspected and taken out by the airline.
Make sure to get a case that locks or clips closed. If you use zip ties, include extras inside for if it is opened and inspected. Also be sure to write an address or phone number on the case in the event it is lost!
